Frequently Asked Questions
Is a metal climbing frame better than a wooden one?
They suit different families. A wooden frame gives towers and playhouses that younger children love, but needs treating. A steel PlayBase needs no treating, takes less of the garden at 1m deep and stays useful into the teenage years.
How much does a BERG climbing frame cost?
The PlayBase Wall is €999, the Medium €1,499, the Large €1,749 and the Extra Large €1,999. Sets with swings and accessories start at €1,038.
Does a PlayBase need concrete?
No. Free-standing frames are held by base sections buried in the ground. The Wall frame fixes to a load-bearing brick or block wall.
Do you deliver climbing frames to Cork?
Yes. Delivery is free across Cork, in 48 hours when the frame is in stock and typically 7 to 10 days otherwise.
Metal Climbing Frames and Swing Sets in Cork
Most climbing frames are wooden towers. The PlayBase is different: a galvanised, powder-coated steel frame 1m deep and 2.45m high, with monkey-bar rungs across the top and carabiner points for swings, gym rings, a climbing wall, a basketball hoop and fitness gear. Every frame is 1m deep and 2.45m high, carries up to 400kg and is for ages 3 and up. The warranty is 10 years, or 13 with registration.
Steel does not rot, split or need treating, and free-standing frames are held by base sections buried in the ground, with no concrete. Ready-made sets add swings and accessories, from €1,038 on the Wall. Delivery is free across Cork, in 48 hours when the frame is in stock and typically 7 to 10 days otherwise. We do not offer an assembly service, but we can refer you to an independent installer.
